Here’s what you need to know about the latest Google algorithm update

Last month, Google rolled out a new algorithm update targeting so-called "parasite SEO" efforts.

Will it affect you?

Well, that depends.

"Parasite SEO" is when someone publishes low-quality content on an authoritative third-party website to improve their own rankings by riding the coattails of the popular site.

(Think creating a Wikipedia page to promote a commercial website under the guise of providing information.)

This practice is considered manipulative by Google and carries ranking and manual action penalties.

So, if you're experiencing any of that, you may want to seek help.

If not, you may actually benefit from this update—especially if you've been outranked through parasitic SEO efforts in the past.

Ultimately, Google isn't really introducing anything new here.

They're simply reiterating what they've been saying for months: They want high-quality content that's helpful to users.

If you think your content may not be up to their standards, reach out to my team and they'll help you make sure you're aligned with Google's expectations.

Cheers,

Neil
