Here’s how Google evaluates your content

Ever wonder how Google decides what's "helpful content" and what isn't?

A recent study analyzed 260,000 search results to find out.

Here are some of the key factors they identified:

  • Content must demonstrate thorough expertise, authoritativeness, and trustworthiness (E-E-A-T).
  • The use of related topics and keywords is crucial (known as semantic SEO).
  • Faster load times and smaller HTML sizes positively impact rankings.
  • Comprehensive content that's well-optimized for user intent ranks better.
  • Informational searches require more comprehensive topic coverage than buyer intent searches.
  • Domain authority is a significant ranking factor.

Does your content hit the mark? If not, your rankings are at risk.

The helpful content system is now integrated into Google's core ranking algorithm, so you need to play by their rules.

Set up a time to chat with my team if your content needs some TLC.

Cheers,

Neil
