Database Automation Patterns + Anti-Patterns

Ideal social platforms to target each age group

Different generations tend to favor different social media channels.

But one channel will give you a broad reach across all age groups – and genders.

What is it?

Check out these charts from Pew Research Center's 2024 Social Media Fact Sheet:

The numbers represent the percentage of U.S. adults who say they every use a specific channel.

And YouTube outperforms other channels across the board.

But there's another interesting finding here.

Ask young people if they use Facebook, and you may get eyerolls and hear that "Facebook is for old people."

But these numbers paint a different picture.

In fact, Facebook is more popular than TikTok among the 18-29 age group.

This shows how important it is to know your target audience, and where they spend their time online.

People may lie, but data doesn't.

Cheers,

Neil

New Trend Report! Database Systems: Modernization for Data-Driven Architectures

Reminder: Summit speakers and discount

The Future of Marketing Summit is approaching fast.

Here are the two most important updates for you:

  1. We are ready to reveal some of the speakers.
  2. Priority price ends today at 11:59 pm PDT.

Let's talk about the speakers.

Stéphanie Sabourin. She is the Europe Director of Audience and Content Distribution at Disneyland Paris, and is responsible for all prospecting, acquisition, and retention channels. This will be magical!

Marco Piantanida. I'm sure you've had some gummy bears before, and you love them. So, do we! We are proud to bring the CEO & Managing Director of HARIBO Italia to speak about their marketing and creative ways to engage with large audiences.

Ryan Deiss. I have learned so much from Ryan that I struggle for the right words when describing him as a speaker. He has so many learnings to share from both of his companies, Digital Marketer and Scalable. I'm personally looking forward to watching his presentation.

Jen Gottlieb. Over the last few years, Jen has grown her personal and corporate brand by helping hundreds of thousands of people online and at her events. She has so many great stories to tell, and she's preparing something special for the Summit.

To be confirmed: We are having several conversations with marketing experts from big brands like Lenovo, L'Oréal, Red Bull, Avianca and more. We are doing our best to bring a great lineup to you.

The first two days of this three-day event are free, but you need to sign up to save your spot.

For those of you who want access to all 3 days + recordings, today is the last day to buy the all-access Lifetime Pass with a 60% discount. The price will go up tomorrow.

I'm excited about this year's edition. This is an unmissable event for us - the new generation of marketers.

Cheers,

Neil

How TikTok can inform your SEO strategy

Nearly 40% of Gen Z prefer using TikTok and Instagram for search over Google, according to Nieman Lab.

And Google is responding by incorporating more videos into its search results – including TikTok posts.

So, it may be time for you to bust out the camera.

But there's more to the TikTok-Google synergy than increasing your visibility with video content.

We've seen TikTok influence search demand for certain products or keywords.

For example, turmeric soap has been a trending topic on TikTok.

Now we're seeing a spike in searches for "tumeric skin care" on Google (though searchers appear to struggle with the spelling of "turmeric").

So, how can you leverage TikTok to inform your SEO strategy?

  1. Observe real-time engagement and content trends on the platform.
  2. Use the TikTok keyword research tool to find trending topics.
  3. If you spot trends that could be applicable to your business, create content around them.

TikTok isn't going anywhere for a while, so make the most out of this platform while you still can.

Reach out to my team if you need guidance.

Cheers,

Neil
