Last month, Google introduced two major updates that put image-powered search at your fingertips: Circle to Search and a new AI-powered multisearch experience. Circle to Search launched globally on January 31 for select Android smartphones. It allows users to select images, text, or videos on their phone screen and pull up information with a simple gesture. AI-powered insights for multisearch, available through the Google app for Android and iOS, combines image and text-based search in one step. For example, you can take a photo of a plant with Google Lens and then add a question, such as "Is this toxic to cats?" With these two updates, Google is diving deeper into the visual search market, which is estimated to reach nearly $33 million by 2028, according to Data Bridge Market Research. These latest updates are part of Google's ongoing commitment to "a future where you can search any way, anywhere you want." Google will continue to experiment, and the search landscape will continue to evolve. If you need help keeping up, reach out to my team.
